FAULHABER has extended the extremely powerful BP4 product family with the brushless DC-Servomotor 2264…BP4. The miniature drive comes with integrated sensors, a wide speed range and outstanding ratio of torque to size and weight.
The 4-pole motor achieves a torque of 59 mNm, weighs just 140 g and has a diameter of 22 mm. The 2264…BP4 reaches up to 34,500 revolutions per minute and has a coil with innovative segment winding producing outstanding performance.
The compact coil provides a resilient shaft with a diameter of 4 mm and suitable bearings. A large amount of copper can be accommodated in the coil due to the overlapping, individually wound segments. This feature desirably creates minimal losses and high efficiency.
The 2264…BP4 is overload-resistant and has a much longer service life than standard DC-Micromotors since it operates without wear-prone mechanical commutation. The motor is well suited for dynamic start/stop operation due to its low inertia. It can be used at temperatures of between -40 and +125 degrees Centigrade.
Optionally integrated analog Hall sensors can replace an encoder in the majority of applications and determine the position of the output shaft very precisely. Compatible optical and magnetic encoders are available for high-precision applications.
The motor is ideally suited for industrial automation and the hand pieces of electric tools, e.g. electric pruning shears and screwdrivers, motorized instruments for surgery, grippers and robots, aerospace or for active prosthetics.
FAULHABER is also adding the 3274…BP4 to the family of motors, the most powerful motor in the family and is now available as a Motion Control System. The 3274…BP4 combines the brushless high-performance motor with tailor-made control electronics in an extremely small space. This creates a dynamic drive system for complex positioning tasks directly in the automation environment.
