V-Infinity Adds 1 A Models to its Highly Efficient Switching Regulator Line

V-Infinity, a division of CUI Inc, has added 1 A models to their line of dc switching regulators. The V78XX-1000 series has efficiencies of up to 95% and is pin-compatible with 78xx linear regulators. Because of this high efficiency, the V78XX-1000 series does not require a heatsink, making it ideal for applications where board space is at a premium and a heatsink cannot be used.

The V78XX-1000 series offers wide input ranges from 4.75 to 32 Vdc and output voltages from 3.3 to 12 Vdc. The switching regulators are non-isolated and feature built-in short circuit protection and thermal shutdown. Measuring 0.69x0.45x0.35" the series has an operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C. The V78XX-1000 series regulators are available now and start at $5.76 in 1000 piece quantities.
