Trio Announces Ethernet Analysis Tool to Help Diagnose and Identify Connection Issues
Posted Jun 26 2009

Trio's Ethernet connection tool helps user in fault finding of an Ethernet connection
and to assist management of a number of controllers on a network. The Visual BASIC code is available free from Trio.
The idea behind the Ethernet connection tool is to help analyze Ethernet connection issues and to assist management of a number of controllers on a network. You can check for free IP Addresses and fault find a connection to a singular address or look at a range as detailed below.
This application is based on the technical details in Trio's Application Note AN-211, available at www.triomotion.com. The Ethernet Tool source code is available (in Visual Basic) so that you can incorporate the tool into your application or modify it to your own network settings.
You will need to have the Trio PCMotion ActiveX installed to use the application as well as Microsoft .net 3.5 or later.
Ethernet connections have common parts which are the same for any Ethernet Node. The IP address for example is allocated to an Ethernet Node and any communications traffic for that node must use the IP address in order to access it.
