 Sensitron Semiconductor Offers a 400 volt, 70 AMP 3-Phase Motor Control Sensitron introduces a fully integrated 3-phase brushless DC motor control subsystem which includes power stage, driver stage, controller stage, and evaluation interface board. Features include up to 70A average DC bus current with up to 400VDC bus voltage, or up to 40A average for 600V DC bus voltage. This motor controller/driver subsystem is housed in a compact power package. The SMC6G070-060-1 can be used in two or four quadrant modes of operation. Four-quadrant mode is needed for dynamic systems. Two-quadrant mode is recommended for steady operation because of the reduced switching losses. The logic input quad selection input can be utilized to change the controller mode of operation. The controller is best used as a speed or torque controller for controlling/driving fans, pumps, and motors in applications which require small size. Many integral control features provide the user much flexibility in adapting the SMC6G070-060-1 to specific system requirements. The small size of this subsystem is ideal for aerospace, military, industrial, and medical applications. Features: • Fully integrated 3-phase brushless DC motor control subsystem includes power stage, non-isolated driver stage, and controller stage • Up to 70A average DC bus current with up to 400VDC bus voltage • Internal precision current sense resistor (30W max. dissipation) • Cycle by cycle current limiting. • Over-current shutdown with auto recovery and soft re-start, if the DC bus average current exceeds 125% of current limit. • Fixed frequency PWM from zero speed to full speed. • Closed-loop speed control or torque control. • Direction input for direction reversal of motor • Direction output is available. • Tacho output with average output proportional to speed • Brake input for dynamic braking of motor • Over-voltage/coast input for shutdown of all power switches • Soft start input with adjustable starting time. • Adjustable over-temperature shutdown set-point. • Under-voltage shutdown for the 15V VCC with auto recovery and soft re-start. • Case temperature Sense output. • Over-temperature shutdown with auto recovery and soft re-start. • Duty-cycle limited to 90% at start-up and can be 100% at high-speed. • Current limit reference for programmable over-current limit. • DC bus current sense amplifier with absolute value output. • Desaturation protection for all six IGBTs. • Shoot-through protection • Selectable two or four quadrant operation • Package size - 3.59" x 1.55" x 0.80" • Total Weight 5.0 OZ. This module has integrated current sensing with no derating over the full operating temperature range. The module is the electronic equivalent to an electromechanical circuit breaker with isolated control and status.
Its epoxy shell construction and high power density allows the same pin out as industry standard units in only 57% of the board space (Ultra small size: 1.875"x1.125"x0.38")
