BEI introduces a multi-turn absolute encoder, the HMT25, with electronic reset capability. Unlike manual resets (buttons or switches) an electronic reset can use system software for initialization. This greatly improves machine set-up time, especially in systems with space constraints. Sending a timed pulse through the reset pin, the encoder value gets set to "zero" through a non-volatile internal memory. Since the encoder uses a geared multi-turn code wheel system, instead of a battery-dependant electronic turns counter, the physical position at any time is precisely determined even in prolonged power down situations. The LN series linear encoders provide rapid, accurate and repeatable position feedback with a unique rugged design. Featuring a stainless steel scale, sealed read head and industry leading IP67 environmental rating, LN linear encoders offer exceptional resistance to shock, vibration, and contaminants. This sturdy design reduces the risk of breakage and system downtime. LN linear encoders are able to operate in harsh industrial environments with no air purging system required. Dust, liquids, and debris will not affect its performance. Designed with a non-contacting system of measurement, there are no parts to wear out, eliminating costly maintenance. The new dual output option for the HS35 hollow shaft encoder from BEI provides redundant encoder signals to ensure maximum control system reliability. This feature uses two sets of internal electronics to send identical isolated output signals to two separate connectors. If one output becomes electrically damaged, simply move the cable from one connector to the other. Your downtime is measured in minutes, not hours or days. The dual output feature also has the capability to supply two separate controllers from a single encoder. Since the connectors are mechanically parallel and electrically isolated, connecting to a second controller and routing the cable is straightforward. Now you can save the cost and space of a second encoder with a single installation. The HS35 series encoder is a heavy-duty hollow shaft design with a rugged cast metal housing and dual preloaded bearings for robustness and reliability.
The popular HS35 hollow shaft style incremental encoder from BEI now has expanded capability for finer resolution. High resolution is obtained using robust internal interpolation electronics which multiply internal signals with no degradation of overall accuracy. Interpolative multiples of 2X, up to 16X are available for the HS35 incremental hollow shaft encoder providing up to 80,000 cycles per turn. Using standard quadrature detection yields a maximum resolution of 320,000 counts. The inherent reliability and ruggedness of the HS35 coupled with the new interpolative options delivers superior position feedback for control systems. The HS35 is a heavy-duty hollow shaft encoder with a rugged cast metal housing and dual preloaded bearings for robustness and reliability. This product features rotating shaft seals and a sealed connector for NEMA 4, 13 and IP65 ratings. BEI’s Industrial Encoder Division provides a complete rotary position and speed sensing system that meets international CENELEC/ATEX hazardous environmental ratings. The Intrinsically Safe (IS) system consists of a rotary encoder, cable assembly and an intrinsic safety barrier. When combined, these components satisfy requirements for acomprise a loop-approved, Class I, Division 1, Group A, B, C and D (EEx ia IIC T4 CENELEC) sensing system. 
BEI’s newest and largest-bore hollow shaft encoder is ideal for large motor feedback applications. The HS45 accepts motor shafts up to 1 5/8 inches in diameter (1 - 7/8 inches optional) and provides data for position and velocity control. This model incorporates the precise feedback capabilities of an optical encoder with an easily mounted configuration to larger motors. There is no need to step down or alter most large motor shafts. 
These range in ball size from 2.25” diameter for precision applications, down to 1.375” in diameter for portable equipment installations. These trackballs are cursor controls for computer systems which need rugged, environmentally-protected devices with exceptional feel and control. 
BEI’s Industrial Encoder Division now offers compact DIN rail mounted power supplies for use with their optical encoders and accessories. This PS-series Encoder Module accessory makes it easy and convenient to provide proper regulated power to encoders from a variety of power sources.

Built around the popular HS35 incremental design, the HS35 absolute encoder from BEI incorporates many of the same features, including: through and blind-shaft versions, a variety of shaft bores (up to 1” in diameter) and two tether options.
Goleta -- The first in a family of electronic modules from BEI’s Industrial Encoder Division, this easy-to-use encoder tester utilizes an industry standard DIN rail mountable package. The simple design and mounting makes it ideal for motor test and repair facilities. This tester can accept inputs from any incremental optical encoder and provides illuminated status indicators for each channel under test. The DIN rail package provides a convenient, standard mounting option, though field technicians can also use it as a portable tester. This flexibility makes it ideally suited for use as an aid to troubleshooting, field testing or for incoming inspection.
GOLETA, CA -- The Industrial Encoder Division of BEI's Sensors & Systems Company now offers a selection of encoder models with the ability to operate continuously in environments up to 105°C. This high temperature option is available on select standard models with diameters of 2.5" and above: the H25, HS35, E25, and L25 series of industrial encoders.
Goleta, CA – BEI’s Industrial Encoder Division is the first encoder manufacturer to provide a DIN rail mountable, optically isolated, electronic module designed specifically for use with incremental encoders. This optical isolator is part of a family of externally mounted electronic packages recently introduced by BEI. Isolation circuitry in this module acts as an encoder interface to provide an electrically robust output to the receiving electronics. This presents a solid solution for systems that are marginal due to poor signal compatibility with the receiving electronics or installations that are particularly susceptible to noise or grounding problems.
Goleta – BEI’s Industrial Encoder division now provides the international CENELEC hazardous environmental rating for its incremental Hollow-Shaft encoders. Models HS35 (3.5” diameter) and HS25 (2.5” diameter) are available with the Class I, Division 1, Group C and D ratings (Eex ia IIB T4 CENELEC) when connected to the appropriate intrinsic safety electrical barriers. This extends the hazardous environment capabilities offered within the existing HS35 package and introduces the new, smaller hollow-shaft style of HS25 as a solution for these demanding applications. Both encoder styles have the enhanced capability of an RS422 compatible output along with the intrinsic safety rating.
