Product ReleaseMotion Control - Stages with Integrated Stepper Motor, Controller and Driver![]() MICOS USA, a leading supplier of precision motion control technology, announces the introduction of the low cost linear stage VT-80 and low cost rotary stage DT-80 with integrated stepper motor/driver/controller to the North American market. The linear translation stage VT-80 is a low cost complement to MICOS high precision stages. The VT-80 is available with travel ranges from 25 mm to 300 mm. Due to its low profile of 1 inch, it is especially suitable for XY-assembly and space restricted applications. Backlash-free, re-circulating ball bearings in addition to a back-lash compensated lead screw produce outstandingly smooth and quiet motion. All stages are direct drives without gearbox and can be combined with our popular SMC-Pollux (as shown above). The SMC-Pollux integrates a 2 phase stepper motor with a micro-stepping driver (up to 5000 micro-steps/full step) and a DSP based motion controller. The motion controller utilizes a multi-drop serial interface that allows daisy chaining of up to 16 axes. In addition, we offer the VT-80 with a low profile DC or 2-phase steppers motor without integrated motor/driver. Like most of the MICOS stages, the VT-80 is available for vacuum applications up to UHV (10-9 mbar) and can be equipped with linear encoder. The rotation stage DT-80 is a low cost complement to the MICOS high precision rotation stages DT-65 and PRS-110. Often used in combination with the VT-80, the low profile of this DT-80 is especially suitable for stacked applications where rotary motion is required. Equipped with an aperture of 40 mm diameter, it is ideal for many microscopy applications. Equipped with a screw worm, gear wheel combination that is pre-loaded with zero back-lash, the DT-80 produces exceptionally smooth motion. The DT-80 can be integrated with the SMC-Pollux as shown above. This combination incorporates a 2 phase stepper motor with a micro-stepping driver and a DSP based motion controller. The motion controller utilizes a multi-drop serial interface that allows daisy chaining of up to 16 axes. In addition, we offer the DT-80 with a low profile DC or 2-phase steppers motor without integrated motor/driver. As with most of the MICOS stages, the DT-80 is available for vacuum applications up to UHV (10-9 mbar). |
