EC-16 Sterilizible Brushless Motor by Maxon Precision MotorsThe new Maxon “EC-16” sterilizible brushless motors deliver the performance and lifetime of a brushless motor in a sterilizible package. By assembling the motor such that the coils are outside the rotor, good heat dissipation and high overload capability is attained. Steam sterilization is specified at 134° C (273° F) at up to 2.3 bar, for 20 minutes. Motor can be sterilized at least 100 times in an autoclave.

Motor diameter is 16 mm (0.63 in) while the length is 56 mm (2.2 in). Continuous output power is 40 watts, while maximum speed is 50,000 RPM. Maximum continuous torque is up to 12.6 mNm (1.78 oz-in) depending on the winding. Ambient temperature range is -20° to 135° C (-4° to 275° F). Utilizing high-energy samarium cobalt magnets, results in a very responsive mechanical time constant of 5 ms, while minimizing overall size. Complementing the motors is a sterilizable gearhead available in 55 ratios ranging from 3.8:1 to 4592:1, rated for up to 2 Nm (283 oz-in) continuous torque, with a maximum input speed of 8,000 RPM.

This high performance, sterilizible motor is well suited for a variety of applications including surgical, dental, and dermatological tools, as well as other bio-medical devices.

MAXON MOTOR USA has Ceramic 26MM Planetary GearheadsUtilizing high-tech ceramic componets, Maxon's new gearhead achieves significantly higher performance and lifetime compared to conventional all-metal gearheads.

Maxon's new planetary gearhead offers a wide range of ratios for speed reduction or torque multiplication in a 26mm(1.02in) diameter package. There are 55 different ratios offered ranging from 3.8:1 to 4592:1.

Efficiency is from 42% to 84% depending upon the ratio.

Maximum continuous torque is up to 2Nm(283 oz-in) and 3Nm(425 oz-in) on an intermittent basis.

Weight varies from 42 to 94 g (1.5 to 3.3 oz), while length is 29.2 50 56.4 mm(1.2 to 2.2 in).

Ball bearings are used to achieve a maximum radial load of 70N(15.7 lb) at 10 mm(0.39 in) from flange. Maximum axial load is 100 N (22.5 lb).

Recommended input speed... ...More >>

Maxon Precision Motors has a Low-Cost Sensorless Brushless Servo-Amplifier
Maxon AECS 353 Sensorless Servo AmplifierMaxon's new AECS 35/3 is a sensorless servo-amplifier designed for either closed loop velocity control of brushless motors via sensing back-EMF of the motor, or commutation only. Designed for brushless motors equipped without additional sensors, the AECS 35/3 is capable of driving motors 90,000 RPM (for 2-pole motors). Requiring a supply voltage of only 8 to 35 V DC, the servo-amplifier can provide 3 A continuous current or 5 A peak current. Velocity can be controlled via an internal potentiometer, or via an external voltage, and direction, disable, and brake functions may be activated with external switches. Weighing in at merely 20 g (.7 oz), the compact servo-amplifier measures 74 X 51 X 20 mm (2.9 X 2 X .8). Ambient temperature range is from 0° to 40° C, (32° to 104° F) for opera... ...More >>

MAXON PRECISION MOTORS has a Low-Cost Digital Brushless Servo-Amplifier
MAXON PRECISION MOTORS has a LowCost Digital Brushless ServoAmplifierDEC 50/5 features:
Weighs 155g(5.5oz)
Compact at 95 x 75 x 24 mm
PWM at 39 kHz for compatibility
Equipped with Hall effect Sensors
Able to drive motors 120,000 RPM
Requires supply voltage of 10-50 V DC
Ambient temperature range -10° to 45°: C

Burlingame, CA - Maxon's new DEC 50/5 is a digital servo-amplifier designed for velocity, torque, or open loop control of brushless motors. PWM at 39 kHz insures compatibility with most motors. Designed for brushless motors equipped with Hall effect sensors, the DEC 50/5 is capable of driving motors 120,000 RPM( for 2-pole motors). Requiring a supply voltage of 10 to 50 V DC, the servo-amplifier can deliver 95% of the supply voltage to the motor at 5 A continuous current or 10 A peak current. Velocity can be controlled via internal or extern... ...More >>
