 The firmware of JVL's QuickStep motors has been extended with yet another function: an SSI encoder interface. It is thus possible to integrate absolute encoder functions in the QuickStep integrated stepper motors and in the stepper motor controller SMC75. Typically, absolute-encoders are used when there is a need to continue operation immediately after power is re-applied to a machine or system - without first having to perform a zero-search reset. Another major reason for using absolute encoders is to correct motor position in relation to the actual physical absolute position measured by the SSI encoder.

JVL MAC400 Servo Motor offers Triple torque at all speeds
 A unique feature on the market for integrated servo drivers is the JVL MAC400 motor's provision of both 3 x nominal torque at peak torque and full peak torque at all speeds. This means that the power of the motor can be fully utilized. Equally important is the fact that in the majority of applications a smaller motor rating can be used, since peak torque is normally only required during acceleration or braking (deceleration). JVL, now represented in Ohio, USA, has developed a new module for the MAC50-141 and MAC800 series of integrated servo motors that enables the MAC motors to be used on Devicenet. The AC-servo motor, encoder, amplifier, positional controller and Devicenet are all built into the motor. The only connections required are a supply voltage and the Devicenet cables. The device type is a "Position controller", which is a standard method for controlling position when motion control is used on Devicenet. A double-supply facility is available so that position and parameters are maintained intact for example during an emergency stop. Via Devicenet it is possible to access all of the MAC motor's registers.
At no additional cost, the Expansion Module is supplied with EDS files, function blocks and program examples for the most commonly used Devicenet PLCs from Omron and Rockwell. JVL Industri Elektronik Offers Multi-axis, 460kbit, High-speed RS485 Interface for MAC Integrated AC-servo Motors  JVL Industri Elektronik A/S is a well-known Danish manufacturer of servo- and step motor controllers. A range of integrated AC servo motors makes JVL a world leader within motion control. The numerous features of these motors include a modular concept that makes it extremely easy to adapt the motors to a very wide range of applications. JVL now announces another new expansion module (MACOO-FS1) for these integrated MAC motors. It can be used in multi-axis, high-speed applications with up to 255 units on the same RS485 bus with repeaters. 4 inputs and 2 outputs, position, error status, etc., are scanned locally and can be read very quickly from a PC or PLC. For example, 16 motors can be scanned in just 12ms. New positional data can be sent to 255 motors in just 133 ms. This is a very important feature in machines where multiple axes must be adjusted quickly and simultaneously. All motor parameters can also be read/written, and a group command can be used to write to several motors simultaneously. All 24V I/O and RS 485 are galvanically isolated to ensure error-free function. 2 of the 4 inputs can be set up as a limit switch.

JVL Offers MAC 800 Series Integrated AC Servo Motors (with brake)  The MAC motor is available in 2 sizes. The smaller 50, 95, 140 or 141W, and the bigger 750 W. Both have 3 times peak power; up to 1.59kW (MAC141) and 7.1 Nm is possible (MAC800). The motors use standard flanges so the MAC motors can directly replace a step motor without mechanical modification. Motor parameters are set-up and programmed via an RS232 or RS485 port using Windows software MacTalk.

JVL Industri Elektronik Integrated AC Servo Motors Save Costs  JVL, which is the European leader in the development of new servo and step motor technology, has developed a series of compact integrated motors, called the "MAC Motor".
The MAC 50 – 141 series and the MAC 400 – 750 series (without and with brake).
The MAC motor is an AC servo motor and controller combined in a single unit, offering previously unseen low pricing for the OEM market. Integrating electronics in a motor has been achieved previously, but never in such a compact unit with true AC servo performance. In the MAC motor, the servo motor, hall sensors, encoder and control circuitry have been especially designed by JVL to provide a self-contained, integrated unit in which the driver and controller are mounted behind the motor in a sealed housing.
System intelligence is thereby decentralized by off-loading control functions to the device level.
