Industrial Encoder Corporation (IEC) announces that in response to increasing demand, they have expanded the selection of Optical Encoder products that are widely used in Washdown applications, requiring regular cleaning with high pressure liquids and caustic chemicals.
Typical applications of IEC's Washdown and Stainless Steel encoders are:
- Food Processing (meat, poultry, and dairy products, slicing and filling)
- Packaging, Filling, and Inspection (including soft drinks and beer)
- Material Handling and Conveyor Equipment, and
- Pharmaceutical, Health and Beauty Products Manufacturing.
The Washdown encoders are designed with a Stainless Steel cover and housing and can be obtained with an IP67 sealing option.
 IEC's product line includes:
- Incremental and Absolute Optical Encoders (Hollow Shaft and with Shaft)
- Heavy Duty Industrial Ratings
- Hollow Shaft Encoders with bores up to 65 mm.
- Motor Mounting Friendly for Hollow Shaft Encoders
IEC's products have been used and proven extensively in Robots, Cranes, Forestry, Oil and Gas Drilling, Machining, Elevator, Factory Automation, Food Processing, Material Handling, and Energy Production applications. IEC is UL certified, and is also certified for Explosion Proof applications in Zones 1, 2 and 3.
