St. Charles, IL - Whether the rotary motion of an OEM's equipment is run by low voltage, battery power or from a stationary DC power source, the new fractional horsepower parallel shaft VWDIR83 gearmotors from Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. represent a versatile, long life, value solution. Designed as Von Weise Drop-In Replacements, the Bison VWDIR83 gearmotors are available in 12 standard models; 6 each for 12 volt and 90 volt DC inputs. With gear ratios from 32:1 to 430:1, fixed output speeds range from 6 to 93 RPM, with output torques from 50 to 13 in-lbs. These Bison drop-in replacements for VW83 gearmotors feature 1/30 hp permanent magnet DC motors with replaceable brushes, grease lubrication for long life and all-position face mounting with a 50 lb. overhung load rating. Bison is also introducing a similar line of dual voltage, dual frequency AC gearmotors, powered by 1/20 hp induction motors. "This is a low profile, excellent value gearmotor design that fits perfectly into such applications as peristaltic pumps, commercial floor care appliances, door operators, lamination, binding and other types of office and document handling equipment," said Andy Szpak, Bison Gear Regional Sales Director. "The permanent magnet DC motor offers high starting torque capability and we can even mount a Bison speed control directly to these gearmotors for even more versatility, as well as energy savings." Available from stock, Bison's new 12 Volt DC parallel shaft products are available in horsepower ranging from 1/20 Hp to 1/6 Hp.
The new motors are mounted on our most popular gearcases, the Bison 100 and 300 Series. The 100 Series offers a wide speed range and many voltage options in an ultra-compact package. Torque ratings are up to 100 in-lbs continuous. For up to 300 in-lbs our 300 Series is unmatched in voltage and speed options.
