 Bison Gear and Engineering has added their own drives to the already vast product line currently being offered to their customers.The drive product will consist or SCR (silicon controlled rectifier), PWM (pulse width modulated), SCR regenerative, and AC variable frequency drives. Now Bison offers a complete solution which includes the motor and drive from a single source, backed by industry leading engineers, outstanding customer service and the indoctrination of lean manufacturing practices. Bison is a family-owned business that has been supplying gearmotors, reducers and motors for use in heavy-duty commercial products for more than 45 years. Bison standard gearmotors are available up to 3hp/2.2kw, in both U.S. and European Union frequencies and voltages. They include parallel shaft gearmotors, right angle gearmotors in single and double reduction versions, speed reducers, AC and DC motors, including inverter controlled and 3- phase models. Bison gearmotors typically produce more torque than other gearmotors in their physical size and price range; and are engineered with Robusticity™ to provide high reliability in demanding applications. Industries such as, conveyors, icemaker-dispensers, food preparation equipment, food dispensers, hot melt dispensers, chemical mixers, door openers, automatic feeders, ventilation systems, exercise equipment, metal cutting equipment, packaging equipment, medical pumping and positioning equipment, battery powered vehicles, military applications, and much more are using Bison products. Available from stock, Bison's new 12 Volt DC parallel shaft products are available in horsepower ranging from 1/20 Hp to 1/6 Hp.
The new motors are mounted on our most popular gearcases, the Bison 100 and 300 Series. The 100 Series offers a wide speed range and many voltage options in an ultra-compact package. Torque ratings are up to 100 in-lbs continuous. For up to 300 in-lbs our 300 Series is unmatched in voltage and speed options.
Bison motors and gearmotors are available throughout the US and Canada.

1) Housing – Single Piece aluminum housing – Lighter and dimensionally stronger than zinc, our gearcase is machined on automated mills for superior alignment of bearings and gearing.
2) Finned End Bell –Bison’s finned rear end bell not only reduces weight, but more importantly improves the thermal resistance of the frame.
Using the same high quality components that have set the industry standards for over forty years, Bison is proud to introduce our 562 series hollow shaft gearmotor. Robusticity… Increased low speed center distance, coupled with greater clearance for wider faced gears, the 562 allows users to obtain close to twice the continuous torque ratings! (1100 in-lbs. continuous vs. competitor’s 600 in-lbs.)
