H2W has released NCM Actuators that are available from stock with strokes up to 3 inches, and longer strokes are available upon request. Although Voice Coil Actuators are traditionally shorter strokes, H2W now offers longer stroke actuators from stock. The moving magnet style actuator is provided with supplied internal bushings and a hardened steel shaft. Multi-axis Crossed Roller Positioning Stages Designed for Harsh Environments
H2W has released a number of custom designed Multi-axis Crossed Roller Positioning Stages, or XRS, capable of producing high speeds in unique motion profiles. The photo above shows a XRS designed to operate at -200C. The XR Positioning Stage is a compact, small cross section open or enclosed positioning stage for short stroke linear servo applications (up to 12 inch stroke). It is driven by either an iron core or ironless core 3-phase brushless linear motor and guided by 2 sets of parallel cross roller bearings. The dual parallel rail sets offer excellent load carrying capability. XR Positioning Stages are used in the following applications: Pick and Place, Vision Inspection, Parts Transfer, or Clean Room Environments.

Custom Design Linear Induction Motors
H2W has released a number of custom designed Linear Induction Motors, or LIMs, capable of producing high speeds in unique motion profiles. The photo above shows a LIM with a curved profile. The 3-phase coil assembly can be directly connected to the AC line for single speed applications or to an adjustable frequency drive for precise variable control of the speed of the motor. The laminated coil assembly (shown above) is used in conjunction with a customer supplied aluminum and steel reaction plate to produce a force. A customer supplied bearing system is required to maintain the .040” - .060” [1 – 1.5 mm] air gap between the coil assembly and the reaction plate. H2W Technologies Voice Coils are ideal for short stroke (typically less than 2 inches) closed loop servo applications. Their compact size allows them to fit into small spaces. They have very low electrical and mechanical time constants. The low moving mass allows for high accelerations of light payloads. These actuators are wound in such a way that no commutation is required for motion to occur. The result is a much simpler and more reliable system. Generally moving coil voice coils have required an external bearing system; however H2W has integrated an internal bearing system that does not add to the outside diameter of the actuator. This is also an inexpensive alternative to the voice coil stage. Their compact size allows them to fit into small spaces. They have very low electrical and mechanical time constants. The low moving mass allows for high accelerations of light payloads.

The ironless core coil assembly has no magnetic attractive force to the stationary magnet assembly, which reduces the load on the bearing system, which increases the life of the bearing. There are no magnetic drag forces (hysteresis), which allows for higher accelerations.

Voice Coil Air Bearing Stage by H2WThis stage was built for a customer who was attempting to move at 20Hz over a short stroke (0.1"). H2W was replacing a similar voice coil stage which had a ball slide bearing assembly. After several million cycles, the friction of the steel balls wore an indentation in the bearing assembly, thus preventing smooth continuous motion of the slide.
