PLHE series Servo Gearheads for high output shaft loads

PLHE series Servo Gearheads for high output shaft loads

In many automated, servo-motor driven machinery, the required motion is characterized mainly by high shaft loads and moderate positioning accuracy. This means that high mechanical integrity, high loadability, high tilting stiffness and a strong output are the primary requirements. Tight backlash, low lost motion, and high rotational stiffness are not required. This is frequently the case in machinery handling high weight and large shaft side loads; such as bending, palletizing, and casing machines.

Standard servo gearheads, like the Neugart PLE series offer moderate positioning accuracy coupled with moderate shaft loadability.

Gearheads used for very high positioning accuracy with extremely low backlash, such as the Neugart PLN series, also feature very stiff output, with highly loadable taper roller bearings.
There are only a few gearheads offering good, moderate positioning accuracy combined with very high output stiffness and loadability. This segment is targeted by the Neugart PLHE product line.

The PLHE is currently offered in 3 sizes, each with 15 ratios between 3:1 and 100:1. The gearbox features exceptional output tilting stiffness and very high permissible radial and axial loads. The output shaft is supported by a pair of generously sized, preloaded taper roller bearings in an “O-arrangement”.
