Leland High School Visits Bison for a Lunch & Learn

“Understanding Manufacturing is key for today’s students.”

St. Charles, IL - Today Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. hosted 16 students and 5 instructors for an informational lunch and learn which discussed the importance that manufacturing has on the economy as well as an overview about Bison. Students were treated to a presentation regarding how gearmotors are made and the industries where they can be found everyday.

After lunch,students were given a tour of the Manufacturing facility where they could see and feel the final product that is being produced in the St. Charles, IL plant. A question and answer session discussing employment and intern opportunities closed the event.

“It is key today to get students excited about Manufacturing and show them the tremendous employment opportunities available in the industry,” said Sylvia Wetzel, Chief Learning Officer at Bison Gear. “Many young people aren’t aware of the Certification System, such as the Manufacturing Skills Certification which validates for employers that a student has successfully achieved core workforce readiness to enter into a manufacturing environment.”
